REASON® Root Cause Analysis

REASON® 6

REASON Customizable Profiles for the Push-Based Lessons Learned Broadcasting system.

One of the most powerful of the new REASON6 features is Lessons Learned Broadcasting.

Everyone in your organization has problems associated with their jobs. Everyone has situations and issues that they wish they knew how to solve. Sometimes there are problems that exist and are present in people’s everyday workplace that they don’t even know are there.

Lessons Learned Broadcasting is a feature of the REASON System that allows users to define for themselves a work profile. In this profile they define what the do, what kinds of materials they use, the kinds of processes they are involved in and the type of function they perform.

The magic of this feature comes when somewhere, someone in the organization finishes an investigation of a problem. The problem could be primarily a safety problem or an issue with maintenance, shipping, operations…etc. For an example let’s assume the event is primarily a maintenance event. Even though the event would be best categorized as a maintenance event, within the event there could be several lessons that were learned that apply and would be valuable outside of maintenance.

The problem has been that there has been no easy mechanism for targeting those lessons to those around the organization that need that knowledge-until now.

With REASON6’s Lessons Broadcasting feature the lessons of each event are automatically and intelligently targeted to those who need it. In this way individuals are educated about improvements and solutions without meetings, and other bureaucratic fanfare taxing and slowing down the organization.
