United Space Alliance Deploys REASON

Decision Systems, Inc. is proud to announce that the United Space Alliance is deploying REASON  Root Cause Analysis Methodology and Software as their standardized, problem solving system.

The United Space Alliance is the prime contractor for NASA’s Space Shuttle Program, and is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of U.S. Space Shuttle Operations, including launch and landing operations. USA’s first and foremost goal is to provide quality of operations in order to assure safe and reliable management of the NASA Space Shuttle Fleet.

USA corporate deployment plans call for Decision Systems to license the REASON® Root Cause Analysis and Lessons Learned System, and to train USA personnel in the REASON methodology.

The data learned from REASON® on current projects/missions will be applied both to immediate operations quality issues, as-well-as future Lessons Learned  applications. The REASON® Lessons Learned System is a web-based resource of knowledge, providing ready access to data via Intra/Internet for the purposes of aiding in future emergency responses, problem solving, prevention, and engineering planning within USA’s projects.

The agreement between DECISION Systems, Inc. and the United Space Alliance, calls for corporate-wide licensing of the REASON Root Cause Analysis and Lessons Learned System, customized software, as well as consulting and training services to United Space Alliance personnel who support NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and Johnson Space Center.

The United Space Alliance is a limited liability company owned equally by The Boeing Company and Lockheed Martin. Under the Space Flight Operations Contract with NASA, USA performs space shuttle launch and landing operations at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and flight operations for the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
